OL Authorized Volunteer has good day at the Tyler Truck Stop

    Had a fantastic day at the Tyler Travel Center truck stop October 23, 2015. Arrived at 7 am and stayed till 12:00 pm. Talked with 63 drivers and all were super receptive. I just kept a record of the drivers’ average age which was 42 years old and average experience was 16 years. Mixed group of long haul and route drivers. I really enjoyed talking to these guys. Many of them had some interesting stories. Some of their “close call” stories gave me chills. The most important safety reminder we can give ALL CDL drivers is if you “SEE TRACKS? New Railroad Safety Ad Campaign for Truck Drivers

Texas Operation Lifesaver and Union Pacific roll out targeted ads for big rigs WHAT: Beginning October 1, 2015, Texas truck drivers will begin seeing new ads reminding them to be careful at railroad crossings when they stop to fill up at select fueling stations across the state. The ads are part of a campaign being launched by Texas Operation Lifesaver, thanks to a grant secured from the Federal Highway Administration.
